Football in an empty stadium is weird and I would think would be for the players.
I coached many basketball teams over the years in AAU tournaments and very few fans attended. That sound of shoes squeaking and that leather ball bouncing off a wooden floor with take me back and be very familiar to the players.
Same with baseball. Crowds do not seem to have that much impact. No one ever paid to watch me play. With good reason.
Hockey has more crowd involvement than any other sport, except for certain big basketball games. I l loved it last year when the crowd at USCe chanted "ref you suck," which is common at Preds games.
