I have been on business travel for about three weeks and hotels are struggling to stay ahead of the pandemic. Large bottles of hand sanitizer now appear on every floor, and major chains have stopped serving breakfast buffets, brunches, and anything group-related.

Guests still seem oblivious, and I notice people continuing to press elevator buttons with their fingertips and then touch their faces. Occupancy rates were normal at the last two hotels but low at my current one.

I believe this industry will soon be one of the hardest-hit except in Vegas, where the casinos are still full, and the parties still rage.
