Those that think they know more about how to hire an offensive coordinator than Butch should form a consulting group/committee and call Butch's assistant, get a meeting set on Butch's calendar as soon as possible, and get to the football complex to share their thoughts. This accomplishes several things - 1) it gets their valuable input in front of the man who ultimately makes the hire, 2) most consultants have a bio of sorts that shares their experience in their chosen field, so this would allow Butch to understand how many OC's the group had hired in the past and the success of each of those hires, 3) it provides an opportunity to get feedback from Butch regarding their input, so they understand his thought process, and 4) it takes those that know so much about hiring a OC from being faceless behind the keyboard and gets them in person in front of Butch, so that he can have a good face to face discussion, and if he takes their advice on the hire, we know who to criticize if the hire goes wrong. This seems like a very logical approach so that those with the advice can have a voice and really be heard.
