A couple of notes as I watched:
  • Really good pass pro
  • Mid-way thru the 2nd quarter TN had run 21 plays on FL's side of the field
  • Look at the blitz #6 picks up mid-way thru the 2nd quarter...really impressive
  • #10 plays with a ton of desire...really slippery in the open field. Spin moves, quickness, etc. make him a tough tackle
  • When dobbs has time in the pocket dobbs can be extremely accurate...look at how much confidence he had in the pocket in the 2nd quarter
  • Look at the play call in the 3rd quarter at 14.10...#15 gets matched up on the LB...Dobbs makes the right call with the ball. CMD did a good job in the 2nd half of creating mis-matches
  • #7 from FL had tough assignments all night - attempting to guard #10 or #3
  • One offensive change in the 2nd half vs. the 1st...run a man in motion...not just any player but #3 or #6 or #15 or #10 and run a seam or post or a crossing pattern. FL's defense adjusted when these players motioned vs. the first half when #82 or #25 motioned. TN has a ton of athleticism in those 4 players vs. Wolf and Smith. This move also exposed the weak link in the FL D - their safeties and LBs ability to cover an athletic slot.
  • At 15.30 tell me why FL's #7 is playing outside technique and FL's safety is 30 yards downfield playing outside technique? The middle of the field was wide open for #3.
So to me TN's Oline had an awesome game. Hall is truly the answer at RT. Dobbs is a good enough passer in this offense to make TN's O very, very dangerous. Not to mention we have 3 WRs who could be considered playmakers (#3, #15, and #10).
