Due to an unusual set of circumstances I was at the SC jr/TAM game and followed the Vols on my iPhone (don't give me any grief here). TAM is a beatable team. They did not look like giant killers against a bad SC team that played by far their best game of the year. No doubt that A & M was not ready (SC scored on along run on the first play).
The A and M QB when rushed made several bad decisions. Sorry, I am too lazy to look us his name but he is the OU transfer, and too old to remember LOL. He is no Dobbs running but does well when running north and south but less so when he goes wide, unless it is by design. Their game was not in real doubt about who would win but still close enough that they could not rest their starters for the last quarter. Muschamp probably left McIlwain in too long and when Orth came in he pretty well lit up the Aggie defense. While his passing was sharp, still it gave new hope we can pass on this team.
As a side note, I said back in the summer that by the time we placed the cocks that the frosh would be starting but now not so sure. He has proven not to be as accurate a passer as it appeared he would be from the spring game and practice and, while listed at 6' he is short--no 6'. I've noticed that his passes are to the outside and my guess is he cannot see over tall linemen in the middle. But, this is A & M week, so that is our focus.
The way this season is playing out who the heck knows what is going to happen but I feel better about this game than last week. This is definitely a winnable game. We all know we cannot continue to have the huge comebacks so we have to get out the blocks much better.
GBO.
