I want to take this time to thank Brent Hubbs and the staff at VolQuest for the many years of partnership they have had with Rivals. Brent was one of the first people I worked closely with on the larger Rivals platform when I joined the Network almost 20 years ago. I cannot recall where we were going, but I remember hopping in a car with he and Rob Lewis at the very first Rivals Publisher’s Conference I attended. I wish Brent and his staff all the best going forward!
While the name of the site will change tomorrow, what will not change is the commitment at Rivals to bring you the best coverage of the University of Tennessee athletics. The new team that will be leading this community will introduce themselves after the transition, but I want to spend this time thanking Brent and the VolQuest staff and answering a few of the questions I know you have.
So, what does this transition mean for you? Like I said above, the name of the site will change and the writers will be different, but you will not see many differences beyond that. This community remains the same. Your post counts remain the same. Your subscription, user names, the layout of the site and this message board - they all stay the same. The URL you see right now at the top of the page will not change and will bring you right back here tomorrow.
Since I took over as Rivals’ Director of Operations last year, we have been focused on creating dynamic experiences for our users. Rivals is a space where sports fans come to find out the latest information on their team, congregate with other fans, celebrate the wins, commiserate over the losses and forget about the day’s troubles for a little while. We do not take the opportunity to continue providing that space for granted. Thank you for being a Rivals subscriber, and we look forward to the future!
