I can remember. I was headed to puberty when Dale Ellis, Willie Burton, Tyrone Beaman, etc. lost a heartbreaker to UVA in the Tourney. Since then, I'm not sure we have ever gone into a season with a better team.
It seems to me that the Preseason SEC POY is going to be Admiral Schofield. Pretty remarkable when this last season's POY was his teammate. Grant will be first team All-SEC preseason with Admiral and I suspect Lamonte will be 2nd team.
We need some offense from Jalen Johnson and Yves Pons and we need Bowden to find his shot. If Grant and the others work as hard as Admiral has been working, this is going to be a very special group. Would love to see us add another Graduate Transfer, perhaps Woods from Wake Forest.
I just think the Vols are going to open in the top 10 and be the favorite to win the SEC. It's good to be back.
