is astounding. The search process works real simple with an outside firm:

1. They take Currie's list and compile their own list of candidates
2. They quietly gauge interest from said candidates or speak to agents to see what is "real" (Gruden)
3. Once they have a list of interested parties, they share feedback on their vetting along with concerns (i.e. Schiano---yes he is interested, but is a PR nightmare and here is why we think that)
4. Currie then picks the top 2-3 candidates from the list, taking into account all feedback (Gundy is interested but we fear he may not leave alma mater---then Currie decides to take their advice or still interview him)
5. After Currie interviews and settles on top 2 candidates, he brings them to his bosses and they interview finalists for rubber stamp. Contract terms are settled on before announcement made. Announcement goes public and press conference scheduled.

Mind boggling Currie did all this on his own, very publicly and was humiliated by being turned down when a firm would have stopped this at the beginning
