We know the wheels fell off for Jalen and the team at some point in the last month. I don't think it extends beyond that because he consistently started and played over a better back (or two). That means two things to me:

1. Our coaches are completely incompetent

And/or

2. The "doughouse" factor isn't as relevant.

He could have left in two ways

1. Suck it up and ride it out. If he does this there is a large possibility he continues to be a major distraction for the team and our play suffers. None of us know how exactly bad the situation was. If half these rumors are true then this option could not have happened and I hope everyone can understand that.

2. Immediately leave the team and remove yourself from a nasty situation. It benefits you from a personal standpoint and an entire football team including its players, coaches and fans.

So he's a selfish distraction or a quitter.

He (and the coaching staff, players were not involved) made the right decision.

Because of this I would encourage people to consider shifting their viewpoint from the stance of "selfish quitter, he'll never be a VFL" to "something nasty happened. And maybe, just maybe our coaching staff doesn't know what they are doing."
