Ok guys this is the same offense that set records last season and honestly has been mostly successful in Coach Jones time here. Now I know losing Dobbs, Kamara, Malone, Hurd and Jennings this year has really hampered it a great deal, but no excuse there is talent on this team.

First, it starts with Coach Jones!!! You don't have a corvette this year coach to speed down the field. This year is more like a F-150, not flashy or extremely fast, but dependable with a few bells and whistles. With honestly, only one dominate defense left on the schedule in form of the Sabanites. This offense has enough tools in the shed to score on the rest of the teams remaining.

Let's get to it......
Number one, this team is a running team first and getting more two back sets in will allow more options in the run game. It also will make the run plays less predictable and cause the defenses to play more balanced alignments. These split back formations allow better pass protection and more creativity in the screen game. Once again, put in a diamond formation with JG flanked by Kelly and Chandler with Byrd as the deep back. Please get over the stubbornness and use a FB or HB in a power formation under center. Come on man, use more toss sweeps and jet sweeps from the pistol formation. Lastly let these big O linemen be physical by downhill blocking and stop with the zone scheme.

Moving on to the passing game....
It starts in bunches, as in bunch formations and motions to eliminate the press coverage on our young receivers. Take away the option routes and use more predetermined route concepts to maximize their athletic abilities. Again, move Callaway around and even line him up inside to match up against safeties for better mismatches in their coverage. Own the middle of the field with our 6'5" Tight End and our slot receivers. Continue to throw to the running backs out of the split back set and keep the defense honest in coverage.

The bottom Line....
Two weeks to get the group healthy and a nasty streak in them to become punishers not blockers. Now I'm not promoting fighting on the team, but as reported about Smith and Taylor fighting this week in practice. Many on here see that as the wheels falling off this team. I personally do not agree and think it might be the spark this team needs to get going and being more physical. If it was in the locker room I would be concerned, but after a pan cake block I'm not worried that's football. As for improvement here in the OLine, widen the splits some and space the DLine out more to eliminate some of the shifting fronts. Use more combo blocks and inline Tight ends to help seal the edge of the defense.

On to Hollywood......
Yes the QB position, where the show all starts in this offense. Unfortunately, neither Dormady or Guanrantano have looked like Best Actor in the Oscar nominations. Though I know its not all on them as to why this offense has struggled this year. If Jarrett, is truly going to be the leading man from here on out in this offense. He doesn't have to be the box office star for this production to get off the ground. John Kelly is the lead man, so Jarrett needs to be the best supporting lead man. Ok, enough with my goofy dramatics and Hollywood dialogues. Set JG up for success and use his abilities to run a true read option offense. Simplify the passing with bubble screens, slants, Curl and out routes to help make quick decisions. Use more roll and spirit out passes to get him clear vision of the defense. Have more check with me plays after seeing the defense and take the audible pressure off of his shoulders. This is where Coach Scott needs to start earning that pay check.

He's no Steven Spielberg....
Finally, Coach Jones is no great producer, but he is no Spike Lee either. He has been around long enough to know how to make adjustments to his own offense and produce better results. Honestly, whether he rights the ship or ends up losing his job this year. Its time for him to coach like his job depends on it and stop coaching not to lose. We all know he has struggled with in game management and I believe its because he gives to much responsibility to coordinators in crucial times. IF you want to be the man its time to act like the man!

Hope you guys enjoy!
