Yes I know we've talked about this many times but it just needs to happen.

Every pretty campus has a big, grass common area (every SEC school has this but us). This lack of greenspace is the biggest knock on UT's campus, and this would immediately fix that. So, in terms of the University in general, outside of athletics, it's a no brainer. (This is pretty much the only place on campus where a grass common area could be created without knocking down buildings/tearing up roads).

Gameday wise, the lack of a common tailgating area at UT really sucks. People are crammed in every parking lot/yard/parking garage from the stadium to Alcoa Highway tailgating. While it would still be much smaller than the Grove, or Alabama's Quad, it would make our tailgating scene ten times better (just look at how much Tailgate TN in Circle Park has helped).

The only negative responses I've heard on here about it have to do with the loss of "premium parking" aka the loss of a lot of $. Did you guys not take Economics in college? The second this parking lot is gone the next closest garage/lot will replace it as the most expensive, "premium" place to park (aka G10). Plus, they're about to be finished with the brand new garage where Stokely was, and will soon be starting a huge new one on Lake Avenue (5 minute walk from the stadium). Those spots alone will more than make up for the spots that would be lost from this lot.....

But regardless, do you really care that 150 fans will lose their spots? Should we appease those 150 people for 8 Saturdays a year rather than appease the rest of the fanbase/students/University as a whole for 365 days of it?

UT keeps talking about how they plan to increase the greenspace in the heart of campus while pushing parking to the perimeter.....would this not be the first place you would look to do this?

Seems to be too much common sense
