Similar to the discussion about being a 1 seed in basketball . . . was not that Coach Pruitt and co. did a bad job at all but that everyone built up these absolute best case scenario fantasies that we were going to get every 4 and 5 star that visited even when they were coming half way across the country.
If someone had said to you when the wheels were falling off and we were in the 60s as a recruiting class that you shouldn't worry we will have a top 20 class you'd have said Pruitt is taking care of business.
But everyone decided we would have the fantasy best case scenario (we are getting everybody) that not even Bama with 5 national championships in a decade can expect and now people are pissed.
Vols made a nice recovery and got some very good building blocks for the future. I'm happy.
Equally, if he bball Vols lose a couple of more games and make the NCAA tournament (which few expected them to do at all), again, I'm happy.
We rail on Bama fans for losing it for only having a top 5 class and getting into the playoff as the 4th seed . . . are we any different?
