1. "You will have a chance to play right away." - for some positions, this may be true, but for most, Tennessee has some pretty good talent on this team for the next two years.
2. "You can come here and have a chance to win a championship." - This may be true, but kids need to see it to believe it. So far, Tennessee's best regular season under CBJ is 8-4. Prior to that, it was seven straight seasons of at least 6 losses.
3. "Come here, and you will have an excellent shot at getting drafted in the NFL Draft." - Tennessee has not had a player drafted into the NFL Draft in two years.
Simply put, Tennessee is struggling with recruiting 4 and 5 star talent (I really like some of the 3* that are committed, but there needs to be more top level recruits to fill out the class) because they cannot provide strong proof of success in some of the most important areas to High School Recruits. The good news is the Vols have a great chance for success on the field this year, and that will change the minds of some top recruits and could turn this into a Top 10 Class in February.
Unfortunately for us, we have to wait several months for Tennessee to get a chance to change some of these perceptions.
