The season is over and even though it was not what it could have been it was still decent. We got to marvel in the play of Dobbs, Barnett, Kamara,Kelly,Malone , and Jennings. There where plays that will be remembered for the ages but more than anything we had a team that was in it all season long which we have not had in a very long while and we slayed the Florida curse in fine fashion.
The coaches especially HCBJ were able to find out hopefully their weaknesses in themselves and where they need self improvement. Butch has to become more of a CEO and hire the best and let them do work. Many thanks to Debord for he didn't let the offensive ship crash and burn and there was significant improvement. Now it's time for a new era on the O-side and that writing was on the wall with the Helfridge visit. Even if we don't get him Butch I hope has learned the lesson that to beat the best you hire the best and let them do work with the people they trust.
The defense has their head man in Shoop he let Jones call the shots on personnel which was wise on his part to show Butch their weakness and also to identify who needs to go. It's the dead period so the venting of all is very important to keeping this class together. The hires that Butch makes all have to be home runs or very decent no has beens that could not hack it. Time to do some serious poaching and create the best staff in America. If this does not happen we will be loosing some quality players in this class even though a lot of you don't think this is a decent class. This was my first season being home to watch the VOLS in a long time . I don't comment much and when I did I would sign off as VOL FAN IN AFGHANI LAND. Now I am just a Native Knoxvillian living in Houston. I enjoyed every game and with 2017 to look forward to all I can wish for is Butch get it right THE TIME IS NOW.
