Anyone who knows me on this board knows that I have been struggling with the VA for over 4 years now. I filed a complaint with Senator Alexander, and his office has been great about following up with me. Mid-February they told me the VA just moved my appeal to the final stages and I should hear from them in a few weeks. Mid-March, they said they just moved my appeal to the final stages and I should hear from them in a few weeks. Last week, they said they just moved my appeal to the final stages and I should hear from them in a few weeks.
So, today in the mail I finally get the confirmation from the VA that I am married to my wife (our one year anniversary is in two weeks...), but all of their math for back pay is based off of the decision of my appeal, which neither myself or my Senator has heard anything about!
The VA is an absolute joke. There have been board members on here that have given me insight on where my file/appeal is, but there is absolutely no reason why I haven't gotten written confirmation on my appeal after 3 years (for other veterans or VA people, my ebenefits page STILL doesn't show my updated disability even though it does on my dependent paperwork).
All I know is I can't get a job because I had my back blown up twice, and my arm completely mangled by explosions in Iraq. My neighbor, who doesn't work at all, just bought a brand new Chevy (thanks taxpayers), and I am stuck trying to tell my wife that nobody will hire a guy that has trouble walking up and down stairs and can barely lift his right arm because of a war he didn't want any part of.
Something needs to be done about this crap.
