There is a reason why sports talk radio is dying in Nashville and Knoxville.

The program directors for a once major sports talk radio station and a top Nashville sports talk radio station have made recent hires that are following the same formula that has been failing.

104.5 zone in Nashville Has been struggling in all of its slots because the program Director continues to hire unproven local TV personalities to fill their spots. To boot they hire females for those spots. This is not a hit on The popular political correctness initiative practiced in the media.

104.5 the zone is 11th in the Nashville marketplace. that is not good for a station that once dominated that marketplace. They think that hiring local talent and local TV personalities to go on the year is going to make them successful. I know for a fact that there are numerous national radio personalities that they would not even consider for the job. What makes them think that hiring a local female TV personalities going to make them successful in the morning? Hiring a local female TV personality and putting her in the afternoon slot has failed miserably so what makes them think that this is gonna be any different?

The sports animal Knoxville is in last place in a very thin market of radio stations. they recently made a local hire without even talking to anybody anywhere else. just idiots in the program Director seat and all the stations.

The program directors seem to think that you can only fill your slots with people who live in their market. I know some radio personalities who have been Tennessee volunteer fans for years and decades who do not get a shot because they don’t live in Nashville are don’t live in Knoxville and are not buddies with the program Directors.

there are reasons why the sports talk radio stations are dragging the bottom of the ocean and that is because their program directors are not doing their jobs.

I know the radio personalities that I’m talking about would bring extremely interesting perspectives to the local sport scenes in the national sport scenes. Tennesseans don’t wanna hear shock jock radio that you get in Philadelphia and what we have been getting in Nashville. They don’t wanna hear the same boring air personalities in any of our marketplaces.

I used to listen to sports talk radio every day into work and back home from work and for the past two years I’ve been listening to nothing but music and I know that there are many more people who are doing the same thing that I’m doing because the radio station program directors are not doing their homework nor doing their jobs well.
