To starting JG at QB in any game now. He’s a 5th year senior who most likely will be told he is not returning. Start Shrout, Maurer, or Bailey at this point and take the lumps as they come along. JG’s a good kid and he’s given his all for this place, but enough is enough.
Inb4 the “JG’s the best option we have” crowd. Do you know this for certain? In the small sample size we got of Shrout, he could absolutely spin it with velocity/touch on throws when need be. Maurer was a raw True Fr who is the reason we were in the Georgia game LAST YEAR. Bailey’s one of the highest rated QB’s we’ve had coming out of high school in a long time. There is absolutely no way to know if JG’s the best we have if no one else is getting a chance to play. That’s my $0.02 on the matter.
