And this is long, MF-ers because there are a few...

Start w offense

1) Screen game was featured. And they were all executed pretty well by the linemen, Kelly and Dormady. They keep that up and eventually one will pop. Defense must prepare for that.

2) Dormady keeping the ball on the read option, with positive yardage. He didn't hit the first couple, but once he calmed down in the passing game he also began pulling the ball in the run game, and I believe he had at least two runs in excess of 7 yards. He does that 4 times a game and that's another nice wrinkle in the scheme for a defense to deal with and only further frees up Kelly. He's no Worley, for sure...

3) QB accuracy and comfort rolling out. Once again, something else the defense must account for. Dobbs would have sailed all of them... Dormady was a step behind in the first quarter, and did try to force one later on, but no unforced errors in regards to throwing an uncatchable ball.

4) Wolf is poised for a huge year. That one catch was a tough one, but the rest of the evening he was all over the place and seemed to be moving well. Let's get LB out there with him...

5) OL has clearly improved. Not saying we are ready for Bama, or that GA Tech is an SEC team, but we didn't block that well against TN Tech last year, and we will only continue to get better as this year goes on.

6) Receivers looked good. JJ is a huge blow, but Calloway, Palmer and Johnson all seemed to perform well. And I liked the routes Byrd was running (GA tech was clearly not giving us the intermediate middle of the field, so no success) but they did try to fire a couple into him.

7) Kelly obviously looked great running and catching. And go re-watch Ty Chandler's one carry. GT is lucky their guy was in position because had he missed or not been there Chandler was about to flat take off. Looked very explosive.

I give Scott a B plus if not a A minus for the first effort. First half would have gone much differently if our stars had made routine plays and Dormady had been a touch more accurate (people were open, play call was fine) But once we hit our stride the run/pass balance was pretty good and Scott seemed to have a good feel for what to call. Screens, roll outs, read options, throwing to backs and TE's in the flat/down the seam, etc. Good mix. A whole lot to build on.

On defense...

Darryl Taylor is clearly going to be making some plays for us this year. Some of the uncertainty about him has to be put to bed.

I think Cortez McDowell has improved. Bittuli is something different than we thought a week ago. Also have Sapp and later Ignont to throw in there.

We got Warrior ten times more reps than he had previously and did not lose. Game will start slowing down some I am sure.

I am going to give McKenzie credit. At no point during the last 2 years could he have played nearly that many snaps (and he never loafed or took himself out). He has clearly changed a lot. All of you clowns that are freaking out about his play Monday need to go watch the film. You may certainly fault Shoop for the idea, but it was by design that McKenzie was so far off the ball AND playing straight up at the snap (same with Kongbo). I think the next few weeks (with Tuttle) will go much different for our front 4.

Do not know what the answer at CB is... but we have got to hope Wiggins and Shamburger can make up a lot of ground by UF.
