We have some nice pieces. But we do not have the Jimmys and Joes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia et al (I know, not a real hot take). I don't care how we might game plan and scheme, we simply aren't beating those guys until we can improve our roster. 71 scholarship players! The entire school would be on fire if Alabama only had 71 scholarship players. Now can we and should we be able to beat the teams with comparable, or worse, talent? Of course we should. But from what I am looking at our talent is more on par with Ky, Miss St. and Missouri than it is with the big boys.
I am prepared to give JH some time to recruit some dudes. I think both the offensive and defensive schemes are good and I think the team has played hard thus far. But without more and better players we won't be able to get where we all want to be. As a fan base I hope we show some reasonable patience in the hopes that JH can improve the roster.
