This is a case of this program being Tennessee tech level in the next decade unless some real leadership emerges.
People say it’s just the extremists in this board. That’s simply untrue. Non fanatic fans are even out on this guy and they don’t even know his name.
No, this year was literally a perfect storm of Shit for the university of Tennessee and they’re still so lacking in the leadership department they can’t understand or believe it.
Covid made long time ticket holders who paid the bills no matter what the product was either out of loyalty or love back out of Tix and while doing it with 1 year in mind have realized it didn’t hurt too bad and the vast majority of them will never pick them back up. Some will say, that’s fine somebody else will get them but there a real flaw in that logic. The people who’d pick them up, younger generation have zero allegiance to this program from the nostalgia of what was. Anybody who is under 30 has never understood what Tennessee being consistently good looks like. They certainly won’t spend those precious discretionary dollars on this. Sure, if it were to become exciting, become the “it” thing again, then yes.
what is TRULY sad here is there is an answer. It’s as simple as it’s EVER been for this school. It’s the closest thing to a guarantee this school has EVER had the opportunity to do, and because the commitment to being great simply isn’t the same here as it is at other SEC schools and not just the big boys anymore, Tennessee will miss the most golden opportunity they’ve ever had to save their program.
This isn’t about the now but it’s certainly about the next two decades of Tennessee football. Think about it. Fulmer will have presided over the greatest run in Tennessee history and the greatest decline of Tennessee history.
So easy. No leadership. Sad.
My sons and daughters are diehard Vol fans who couldn’t care less about Tennessee football. They’re 17, 15, 14, 11.
it’s over unless a miracle happens.
