I hope that DuBord is the next great, innovative OC at UT and leads us to glory but I think that everyone would have to admit that at least on paper this is one of the worst hires in the history of Tennessee athletics.
There is literally no other power 5 school who would be interested in DuBord for an offensive coordinator position. None.
I understand why the Dooley (desperation based on recruiting calendar and poor state of program along with Saban ties) and Sunseri (recent championship as LB coach for the best defense in college football) happened but I literally cannot understand what is going on in this DuBord situation.
Butch could absolutely hire an exciting offensive coordinator who has demonstrated recent success running a similar system to ours and instead he is going to hire a guy who hasn't called a football play in 7 years that has roots in a prostyle methodical system.
DuBord should never have even been interviewed. This is just weird...
