Last year, we were 8th in scoring D, 5th against the run, and 11th against the pass. I think we'll improve and be better than an average SEC team. Why?

DE- Bumphus, Tremblay
DT- Butler, Thomas
DT- Simmons, Solomon/Terry
DE- Young/Baron, Eason

We have a great DL coach who will get the most out of what we have, and the dead wood/cancers are gone. I expect our DL to exceed expectations. I think Young and Baron will pressure the QB.

OLB- Mitchell, Garlan, Joseph, and Willis
MLB- Banks, Beasley, Harrison, and Page

This year we have a LB coach and offseason development! IMO, we'll be better. Mitchell is good, he was at TX, and Banks should be much better. There is also exciting depth. Henry T and Crouch were not good last year. We'll be better this year.

CB- Taylor, Hadden, Fields
CB- Burrell, George, and, Turnage
NB- Jackson, Slaughter, and Rucker
S- Flowers, McDonald, Labruzza
S- McCollough, Charles

Not as depleted or lacking as most think. Picked up some much needed depth. I like Martinez and think he'll get the most from these guys.

No, we're not a great SEC D, but I think we can be good. Better than the experts think. Good enough to hold our own against most teams. I love the positive vibes, tough coaching (Garner), family atmosphere that all the kids are talking about, and "fun". The staff/team seem to mesh well but we'll know more when the bullets start flying. We're good enough on D to win 8, barring injury, and if the O holds up their end of the bargain.

We shall see.

Just not ready to say we'll be average on D. I have hope. Ask me again after we play Pitt.

GBO!!!!!!!!!!!
