beyond wishful thinking. It is living in fantasy land. Ain’t happening. Pruitt is the guy. There isn’t anyone better that will take this job. We had a nice run in the 90s and were extremely lucky to have won the NC in 98. That win did not catapult us into the elite class in recruiting or attracting great assistants (part of that was Fulmer’s reluctance to impose discipline on the team or to make coaching changes).
Recruiting has changed. There are fewer good players. As a result, there are fewer opportunities to rebuild as good players want to go where other good players are.
I just don’t see a path for UT to be more than a mediocre team in the future. I still bleed orange but have fewer reasons to get excited.
