Butch Jones has been the first coach at UT to do so many things right.
Consider the following:
- He is a great recruiter
- He united and reinvigorated the fan base
- He has turned around a program that was going nowhere
- He was successful at both schools he coached at before UT
- He has a great work ethic and has instilled that in the players
- He is ethical
- He took on a job a lot of people didn't want and hasn't looked back
Those reasons alone are enough for me to trust him with hiring an OC. Reacting to public perception is not leading. Doing the right thing in spite of public opinion is. I say we let Butch lead and make our assessment later.
