1) With numbers as they are and Emory's comment about not taking a 2017 QB, I would happily make that deal. Worst case scenario and someone from QD/SJ/JG leaves after this season, you go get a grad transfer to be the #3 guy for the 2017 season.
2) Maybe I'm overstating it but to me if we can land McDaniel that seems pretty huge for 2017. We are all concerned about DL depth for next season after only the lack of DL in the 2016 class and Johnson's limbo status. But adding MM would give us another high-level SEC quality DL who will have been in the program for a full season going into next year and would really alleviate those concerns at least to some degree. Basically akin to landing Malik Young, if you think about it. And of course the Grayson connection would just be icing on the cake.
