Urban has fallen and Dabo is sucking wind. Meyer got exactly what he deserved and did himself in by his own behavior. He wanted go down as the greatest coach of all time but those 3 National collegiate titles fell far short of Saban. Everyone not in first place has the same view in the race. This is speculation but I think maybe one reason he decided to fight off the headaches and heart attacks was if he could succeed in the NFL he could claim what Saban could not. Just a thought.
Living in South Carolina I get way too much of Dabo. Actually one minute is too much. Dabo was on the hot seat and made some good decisions with hires and Clemson started emerging, and then for whatever reason became a sweetheart of a place to play ball. Dabo had/has an arrogance with recruiting I have not seen before and seem to take the approach that it is an honor for Clemson to come calling to a potential recruit. His "rules" for recruits did work when he was on top but now recruiting is in trouble and he lost both coordinators. The thing that is saving him right now is the ACC where there are automatic wins for any decent team.
But what chaps my ass the most about Dabo is he is a hypocrite. He goes into living rooms and sells the we do it right and the religious card and daddy dab will take cafe of your son. Yes, I know all coaches use whatever works but his is baloney. He keeps saying we are winning the right way. Right LOLI. I am sure in his mind he is religious but his behavior often is not, over and over. Now he is behind the times with the transfer portal, refusing to take JUCOS, and probably most of all NIL's. Best he adopt and adapt and shut up about it. His arrogance may not allow that.
Clemson is not in a position any longer to dictate Dabo's rules of recruiting, nor do they have the financial base to compete at an elite level with the NIL. I suspect soon we may see that USC jr. beats him. But, is is jr. so who knows.
