I know we have several legal scholars on the board, so can someone explain to me how you accept a collectively bargained contract, then sue for more money?
This article says the women actually earned more than the men because they accepted a guaranteed salary, rather than an agreement contingent on games won (as the men did). Also, now that their lawsuit has been thrown out of federal court they're willing to settle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't settlements more enticing to both parties BEFORE the judge rules on the lawsuit?
