The discussion about the Strip got me thinking about this, and I wonder what the board's opinion is.
Is limiting enrollment a good move for the University and for Knoxville?
I'm thinking it might look better on paper right now, but in the long run is it better to have a 25,000 enrollment or let's say 50,000? Historically, Texas & Ohio State became juggernauts because of the sheer size that comes from taking all comers. Is UT limiting it's future growth for a few extra pats on the back by the magazines that rank colleges? Wouldn't our fan base and alumni being larger be a good thing? Wouldn't growth of the college be good for Knoxville and the Strip?
