Just for fun as everyone is juiced up for the Regional this weekend.
Assuming Rucker, Liam, Ferguson and Luc are all gone.
The competition is going to be fierce for those infield spots...
Logan Chambers- possibly top JUCO player in the country. Who Arkansas coach wouldn't stop recruiting after Vitello landed him. Stud.
Dayton Dooney- freshman AA at Arizona. Destroying JUCO currently.
Seth Stephenson- JUCO SS who some consider the fastest player in the draft class. Ranked in MLB Top 200 draft prospects. Speed graded a 75 on an 80 scale. JUCO this year hit .383 with 9 HRs, 13 doubles, 8 triples and 31 stolen bases. To be noted though... many assume he will move to CF or 2nd because his arm grades as average from SS spot.
On Campus...
Trey Lipscomb- talent wise he is big time. Has just had to sit behind a 1st Team All SEC player In Rucker for 3 years. Would be shocked if he doesn't start at 3rd. Can really pick it and has great range with his athleticism. Has produced every time he has gotten the chance. Talking with someone in the program down in Hoover "We expect him to absolutely go off next year. A shame that he has had to sit behind someone as good as Jake but everyone will know him next year."
Steenstra- flashed big time in his first D1 opportunity. Really fluid actions at SS. With his frame a lot of power in the future.
Courtland Lawson-currently a freshman who has flashed at SS. Built like a truck but moves really well. Lot of pop from SS spot.
High school kids...
Ryan Spikes- currently listed in the MLB Top 200 draft prospects. Possible 3-4 round pick. Very talented and very athletic. Middle infielder.
Christian Moore-6'2 200 and can absolutely fly. Recorded 60 time of 6.5. Plays SS up in NYC. Also a pitcher who has clocked 93 from the mound.
Transfers...
@Ben_McKee has said he expects Vitello to be very active in the transfer market where I assume they can attract some big time college players.
Next year is gonna be fun even though we will be replacing starters.
