Just finished watching our Easter church service on line and thought it appropriate to share something with fellow Vols.

Two years ago our pastor retired. In the Presbyterian Church we are required to go through an extensive search process to find a new minister. During that period churches are served by an interim pastor who’s calling is to minister in that way.

Many of you will remember, and I thank you again for your much needed prayers and support, that about a year and a half ago we lost our youngest son to suicide. Our interim minister had just arrived and he was a God send for our family and as it turned out our church as will.

He is one go the finest men I have ever met. He is compassionate, kind, gentle, and has done a wonderful job of leading our church during this period. We have made our choice and he will soon be leaving and he will be sorely missed.

It just so happens that this extraordinary individual is an old Holston Hills boy and UT graduate. His mother just passed away a couple of months ago and still lived in Knoxville. He is a VFL and a huge Vol fan. I am sure some of you know him and will recognize him from this profile. I wrestled with giving his name but he is a humble man and does things because they are the right thing to do but not for acknowledgement. I believe he may be a member of VQ. But I am sure their are quite a few ministers that are members and want to also thank you for your dedicated service as ministers.
