Volken Game Predictions Graded part 2

I thought with the down time before the bowl game it might be interesting (at least to me) to look back at my weekly PREDICTIONS and score them to see if Ms Kleo has anything to worry about. So I'm highlighting the ones I got dead on in GREEN BOLD UNDERLINED print, partial credit in GREY UNDERLINED font and the wrong predictions in RED BOLD lettering. I think Ms. Kleo and her fake accent are safe


Best Prediction: Oklahoma game prediction that Tennessee would go up three score before the Sooners got on the board


Worst Prediction: A tie between the Florida prediction that Pig Howard would have a big day when he got dismissed just before the game & The Georgia prediction that a mutiny was in the making and we might get beat down by Georgia which obviously (and thankfully) didn’t happen thanks to the late first half and second half play by the Vols.


CONTINUED from PART 1:

Predictions for Bama

• Big day in the passing game for Wolf & Kamara (Partial credit only as Kamara led the team in catches and yards but Wolf had only one catch)
• Kamara sees his most touches of the season (Wrong – Kamara led the team in receiving but only had 9 total touches)
• Hurd goes for 100 but needs a big run or two and 25+ carries to do so (Partial as Hurd had 92 yards on 18 carries with the one big run)
• Good day for the returners but no touchdowns (Partial credit as Berry ran one kick back for 33 yards but Sutton returned only one punt for 3 yards)
• Secondary gets a pick
• Biggest day as Vols for Kirkland & McKenzie (Partial credit as Kirkland had his biggest day up to that point with 7 total tackles and a half tackle for loss but McKenzie didn't do a great deal statistically)
• Dobbs throws for 65% or better (WRONG Dobbs only threw for 60%)
• Bama Defense holds everyone but Dobbs under 4 yards per carry (WRONG Hurd had 5.1 and Kamara 4.2; including sacks Dobbs was under 2 ypc)
• Break out game on the season for Von Pearson (WRONG Pearson only had 2 catches for 15 yards)

Georgia Predictions


Okay, I'm making very few predictions for the Georgia game. I think a full scale mutiny may be on the horizon thus the limited predictions.

• Vols get beat down (I'm sorry to say)(WRONG and never been so happy to be WRONG)
• Hurd still goes for 100+ yards (Hurd only went for 84 yards)

Arkansas Predictions

• Kyle Phillips has a break out game with multiple tackles for loss (Phillips didn't play)
• Darrin Kirkland Jr. has his best game to date
• Derek Barnett gets one or more sacks (WRONG had a QB hurry but no sacks)
• Dobbs goes for 275 or more combined yards (Partial credit as Dobbs only had 248)
• Juan Jennings has his break out game with 5+ catches and over 80 yards (WRONG)
• Preston Williams catches a TD pass (Preston had 2 catches for 19 yards but no tds)
• Jalen Hurd runs for over 100 yards (Hurd had 101)
• Kamara has a big game in all purpose yardage (Partial credit as Kamara had 82 yards of total offense)
• Vols have a big game on special teams returns (over 100 yards combined) (Evan took care of this one for me on the opening kickoff)

Predictions for the Florida Game

• Big games from Ethan Wolf & Pig Howard (Partial credit as Ethan lead the team in receptions but Pig was dismissed and did not play)
• Juan Jennings has the most touches of his career (Partial credit as Juan had his most impactful game with one catch and the huge td pass to Dobbs)
• Kyle Phillips has his first career solo sack
• Shy Tuttle and Khalil Mckenzie combine for 3+ TFL but Owen Williams is the DT that really shines
• Chris Weatherd has his biggest day of season with 1 or more sacks
• Josh Dobbs throws his second pick of the season
• Jalen Hurd goes for 100 yards or more once again
  
• Kamara has his biggest day in the passing game thus far this season (Kamara was second in catches & threw the huge 24 yard jump pass to keep a big drive alive)

Predictions for the Sooners Game:

• Vols go up three scores before Sooners get on the board (Vols had 2 tds & a field goal to go up 17 – 0 before the Sooners ever scored)
• Vols run for over 250 yards (Vols were well on their way to 250 in the first half but we all know what happened in the second)
• Vol D gets 5 sacks (or more) (Vols had 2 sacks and 4 QB hurries but couldn’t close the deal on many close calls on Baker Mayfield)
• Vol D gives up 250+ passing yards but OK throws 35-40 times to get there (OK did indeed throw 39 times and got 187 yards almost all in the second half)
• Mayfield throws at least one pick (Baker M. threw two interceptions)
• Vols win by double digits (Obviously wrong but what could have been)
• Look for another big run back by Evan Berry (Evan had close to 100 yard on returns)
• Sutton gets completely bottled up on punt returns (Cam had 2 returns for only 3 yards)
