I watched most of their game vs Liberty and have been on their homeboard some as well.

It's really difficult to take much away because they were playing Liberty... But I thought they looked solid on defense. Wouldn't expect much less from a Bud Foster led unit. Not huge up front but pretty active (sound familiar). The secondary made some plays and forced turnovers... I know some posters with a level of familiarity with the Hokies have said the athleticism isn't there right now... I didn't see it that way, that defense was flying around, but was it because of the much lower competition level? We shall see. After our App St performance they're thinking they get a nostalgic Bud Foster shut down of our run game.

It will be critical for us to win 1st and 2nd down. The Hokies consistently brought 6 man pressures on obvious passing downs. The WR cannot get to the sticks before the QB had to throw the ball. If we can live in 3rd and short, Foster will have to play us more honest.

On offense, they couldn't run the ball. The best run all day came from the QB, Evans, on a jet motion QB power. Their homeboarders, like us, are most concerned that they couldn't move their opponents OL. IMO, the biggest issue they give us is Isaiah Ford and Bucky Hodges. Both guys are NFL players and Evans can put the ball where it belongs.

Their offense was inconsistent, but with a few nice peices, they can get rolling and do some damage.

We should win the special teams battle. I think their punter is pretty bad which likely means no opportunity for returns.

Anyone else watch the Hokies? What's y'all take?
