Sorry for this thread on game day but we gotta spend our time till kickoff somehow right? Also I always get great advice from the GQ, this place is a one stop shop for literally everything ![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
So, I am not tailgating on campus right now because Saturday I slipped on my garage floor and broke my radius at the old growth plate. ER doc set it and placed a pin about 3 hours later.
My hand had gone numb on the way to the hospital. Now, about 5 days later my fingers are still numb. The median nerve side more so than the ulnar nerve side. I feel like it may have improved slightly since Saturday but not much. My doc wants me to see how it feels Monday and call. If no improvement then he will do a carpel tunnel release surgery, which I assume will be next week sometime.
I am a dentist and this hand is my livelihood hence my concern. I cannot yet touch my thumb to any of my fingers when I take the splint and dressing off to clean the pin site. I tried to get in with another doc today but they told me since it just happened Saturday that it was too soon for a second opinion and they would't see me. I just wanted to get an opinion on weather or not this is a good course of action and maybe some insight on what to expect. Thanks guys and Go Vols!
ps: here are before and after radiographs, the last one looks like it didn't get set completely "flush" but I assume that's ok?
