I know “that none of this is our fault” is the mentality of many. But I’d like to point out some things many around our program have said and share from personal experiences. Maybe one of our “negavols” will have more patience.
my dad at 79 has become a negative person, thru several jobs where things were done that no matter what he did “right” one or two people made his job difficult thru complaining. He was a minister and in a church that’s devastating. Now our past administration has done plenty wrong, but we are making Heupels job harder. I had 4 prospects in front of me yesterday and watched as they listened to our fans. Their demeanor changed as they listened. Swan even said this week Heuple is recruiting his ass off but has to overcome the stigma of the past. We want the Nolan’s to come here, besides paying them we need to make them want to come here. I watched our players never quit and repeatedly tried to engage the crowd. Our own Johnny Majors said in a press conference one time that I posted this week, off of you tube, where he said “I will not have negative people around me in our program, you can never be successful”. Our jobs as fans are to support these current kids and coaches. I’ve trained 30 or more labs in my lifetime and I can say the ones I got that were abused from a previous trainer were very hard to love on and fix and that’s how we are. At the first signs of adversity we think just like a beaten woman that this man no matter how nice he is is going to do the same thing as her previous BF or Husband. Dooley, Butch and Pruitt all had plenty of flaws. Hamilton as much as it pains me to say this brought in Kiffen because the fans wanted a better offense. But when I listen to Heupel he is saying how much he loves this school and our kids. When y’all ask why has Arkansas turned it around? Have y’all been to that state? Win or lose they love that school, and we all know how likeable Pittman is. Those kids love love to play for Pittman. Our team is rallying around Heupel the same way. He is positive for a reason. Give him a chance . Kentucky was celebrating 25 SEC wins yesterday. How long did that take at KY?
They didn’t fire Stoops after two games. Or 3 years.
before the game yesterday one of our mods said to me we need Cooper because he knows what’s coming on the line. We need Evan’s because he runs hard. He said and I quote “ Milton was not missing those throws in practice”. So there is why he was starting. As much as I love UT, I don’t know if I could coach here. Everyone makes a mistake or two. Kirby has made plenty in game mistakes and look at how good of a team he has built. But he is deep with studs and can make head scratching calls. If you couch coaches are so perfect, why are you on the couch? None of us are without flaws. Tell someone how great our school is and how awesome Neyland is. Tell them to come here and run thru the T, hang a right and build us back. We can become relevant again, but some of it starts with us.
