We would have been better off if we would have lost some of the games we probably should not have won Appy St, Georgia. At least then you might could have made some moves with the head coach. Now you are just good enough for butch to keep his job.
Butch really does not have to do anything to up grade his assistants this off season. Who is going to make him, we do not have a chancellor or an AD. In addition if Butch was not stubborn and could see that his offense is flawed and we need new assistants he could not hire them anyway because no one will want to come work here. We are at the point that no quality assistants will come here and the lesser ones that will take the jobs will demand huge buyouts. See Sal Sensuri. i would not be surprised if we start to lose some quality assistants. Gillespie for example.
Recruiting began to suffer last year not because of Title 9 suits (18 yr old males could not care less) But because of Butch's coaching. Butch could no longer sell what Tennessee could be like the he did the 2014 2015 classes. He had to sell what he was putting on the field. We finished 7th in SEC recruiting last year this year will be worse the 2018 will be about the same if not worse. This 2016 team is the most talented team that will take the field during the Jones era. The talent pool will begin to dry up and by the time you get rid of butch we will about where we started when he arrived.
