We must start recruiting better to compete on a national stage

All you have to do is look at the top 50 or 60 prospects to realize we are not going to make any significant moves in the SEC with our current recruiting. We do not have enough elite talent coming into our program year after year to compete on a national stage. It's really as simple as that. We've essentially had one nationally recognized player on our team since Eric Berry (Barnett). You can be a critic of star gazers all you want, but until we start pulling highly ranked 4 and 5 star prospects in numbers year after year, we are never going to beat the Alabamas of the world. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson (more recently) and several others have a luxury of swinging and missing on 5 stars. The last few times we have pulled 5 stars, everyone in our fan base expects them to be program savers.
