Specifically, they had some 2017 Rogue Sports marked down to an "online special". Now, It's been a while since I've bought a vehicle that I didn't pay cash for, so I was kind of surprised at the "negotiating" that went on. After several trips to the finance manager, the only counter offer the sales guy made was to offer more months on the loan. Yes, I know they are motivated to finance rather than sell outright. And, the sales guy insinuated that he would have to pay full price if he paid cash. But in the end, it felt like they were only interested in selling a loan rather than a vehicle, much like the local used junk lot who want you to pay per week.
Lastly, as we were walking out, the finance guy came out of his office and fired off this to my friend - "if this was the '80s, maybe we could deal with you" Yea, not sure what that was about.
Is this normal?
