It's become normalized, apparently, for QB's to transfer if they don't play, so how many good ones can we realistically expect to keep on the roster going forward?
Jackson won't consider transfering this year. Everyone knows who the QB is. But what about the next year? I've seen several people say, "It's Hooker this year, Milton next year, then Jackson," but there's no guarantee that Jackson, in this day and age, will be patient enough to stay if he doesn't win the job versus Milton (if Milton even stays this year). But then you bring in Iamaleava, who is already talking about competing for the starting job as a true freshman (in the article about his visit). Jackson vs Iamaleava isn't going to end with both of them happy.
So what do you do? Seems to me you might want to bring in a couple under the radar guys who are just happy to be here. Walk-ons or a guys who had no big offers. And you groom these guys as backups.
But what do you all think? Some schools still seem to be able to get QB's to wait their turn. Maybe Heupel can pull that off. But how do we go about building QB depth in the age of transfers?
