Tik Tok for example is collecting info on your phone such as Browser history and keystrokes and many other things and that data is going back to the Chinese company which then gets handed over to Chinese Government.
they are basically releasing spyware in apps and technology and consuming our data.
Scenario- Imagine a congressman or a senator who has Tik Tok on their phone and that Senator or government official has Nude Photos on their phone or their browser history is searching for Taboo searches or they are leaving a trail of data because they are cheating on their spouse...
They are compromised at that point and it could easily be weaponized.
