Obviously this game is not a gimme, especially given the history in this series. However, if Tennessee executes and Georgia doesn't play over their heads, most think the Vols prevail...
Some good conversation on this gameday-eve would be items you will be looking for during tomorrow's game.
1. Kongbo's playing time.
I was really surprised to see him lose playing time in favor of D. Mixon. Mixon played well but he is not the physical presence that Kongbo is... I would love to know if it was disciplinary, Kongbo was busting some things schematically, etc? Would really like to see #1 be a force on Saturday, and against a lack-luster OL, he certainly could.
2. How well will we defend the middle of the field.
We haven't been tested much over the middle and this is a strong point for the Georgia offense (at least during what I have seen of them...) Godwin and McKenzie are undersized slot guys that work the middle of the field effectively. Gaulden, Foreman, Jumper, McDowell, JRM will have to defend well if we are going to pull away from Georgia.
3. Will Georgia figure things out on defense?
They have a lot of talent on that side of the ball, but they are obviously going through a transition that is never easy. My battered-vol-syndrome tells me that this will be the week they put it all together and cause a lot of problems for our offense... But I think I am getting over my illness and hope to see more of the high flying, explosive offense we saw vs Florida. For the record, I don't think they can cover Malone or tackle our RBs/QB consistently.
