It's incredibly rare that a proven winner and elite coach is available, and it's been 40+ years since there was one available that was interested in coming to UT in Majors.
All those coaches turned around their schools and had them in the hunt for championships, and put them at or near the top of their conferences. It also paid off exponentially in the long-term monetarily.
It would be an absolute failure by our leadership to let Freeze end up at any school other than UT if he moves, and quite honestly would likely be the biggest failure of a coaching search since firing Fulmer since there wasn't an easy or obvious choice any of those times.
