Mistakes are a huge factor in who wins a football game. It's right there as the first maxim. "The team that makes the fewest mistakes wins." That's not always actually the case, of course, but if you are playing a team with equal or better talent, it's very accurate.
I'm just posting this because we have a lot of people talking about how the only thing keeping us from being in the game was a few mistakes, so we should all feel great today. That's like saying you feel great about your leg because all that's wrong with it is you accidentally set it on fire.
I love me some Coach Heupel, but he's dealing with a big problem right now. We play sloppy football. We do it with effort and enthusiasm, but it's still sloppy. Hopefully we can get this corrected soon and win these toss-up games.
