Butch is always reevaluating his staff starting with him first. My hope is that he consults a sports psychologist that can teach him to observe himself in a paradigm. I know he is close to the Miami Heat coach. He visits other schools and knows many coaches across the country. If he reevaluates the same each year and comes across difficult challenges that he has not experienced, I would hope he could think outside the box through the form of a paradigm. He had many challenges this year and he probably would have coached differently if he had the knowledge. I do not know why his strength coach was fired but this team was much stronger last year. It is hard to say if the injuries were from different training. We should give Butch the benefit of the doubt regarding injuries. Hopefully, he can let Shoop bring in coaches that will improve the defense. Butch will probably hire the NFL strength coach. I think if Butch learned to laugh at himself about his cliches, that would disarm the legions of the miserable. The bottom line is when he consistently starts winning, all the fans will embrace that part of his personality. Butch is learning and will become a better coach when he sees these obstacles as learning opportunities. We can all learn how to be thankful and humble while being vol fans. People laughed about his comment being champions for life. If he were to say that after winning a national championship, the fans would love it. The truth is he is teaching his team how to be champions for life, losing or winning.
