No. Actually it is the Executive Committee that has the power. There has been a lot of (probably warranted) talk lately about sec corruption and bias on the administrative level. Keep in mind that sankey (and formerly slive) head up the sec STAFF. They have a public presence and administrative influence, but ultimately it is the Executive Committee that has the power. A look at the composition of the Committee the last 13 years is quite telling. The first 3 names each year are the top 3 officers (in order with president first). The remainder of the 7 person committee is listed below them. Notice any University conspicuously and completely absent until this year? Notice the overriding influence of teams that have it out for Tennessee?
