Why change now?

I get how they want more time before the Bristol game and all that, but why are they just now changing it to Thursday. Everyone has already made plans for it being a Saturday game and now they want to switch it to Thursday. It's not like they didn't know the Bristol game was the next weekend. Terrible planning by the AD
