Why wasn't that a safety?

It looked like he ran back into the end zone of his own doing trying to make a play after he recovered.

I know if his momentum carries him in it's not but in this case it looked like he didn't know where he was on the field and intentionally ran into the end zone to try and advance the ball around the end. In that case it's a safety.
