Butch Jones Passing Offense at CMU:
*2007 Central Michigan was 16th in the nation, ahead of Ainge and the Vols team who should have won the SEC. Antonio Brown caught 102 balls and went over 1,000 yards. Bryan Anderson caught 93 balls for over 1100 yards and double digit TDs.

QB Dan Lefevour also rushed for over 1,000 yards and double digit scores. Lefevour became the second QB in FBS history to throw for over 3,000 and rush for over 1,000 - the other was a relatively highly recruited Vince Young. He currently holds Mid American Conference records for career completions, attempts, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns, and total offensive yards. LeFevour is the only player in NCAA history with over 12,000 passing yards and 2,500 rushing yards and currently sits 2nd all time in total offensive yards. He was responsible for 150 total touchdowns, placing him in second among all FBS quarterbacks.

Keep in mind, Lefevour was recruited by no one, wasn't a QB until his jr season in HS, and only threw for 7TDs, as a HS SR, 2 years prior to leading CMU, under Butch Jones, to those extraordinary, record breaking, stats. In 2 years Lefevour made a jump that rivals any you'll ever see. He didn't throw for 1,000 yards his sr season of HS -- two years later he's in an offensive class of two with Vince Young and has two WRs over 1,000 yards in addition to his own 1300 on the ground. Fairly remarkable.

*In 2008 Central Michigan was 11th in the nation in passing. The team had 4 guys with 35 or more receptions and each went for over 490 yards, they, again feature two guys - something Vol fans fear we won't ever do. We need health and protection, Butch will get the ball to his stars if they're healthy and in the right place.

*In 2009 Central Michigan was 20th in passing. That year Antonio Brown went for nearly 1200 yards with over 110 catches. Unafraid to get his star the ball when he had one, Butch got Antonio Brown another 42 touches on carries for an additional 341 yards (8.1 ypc) and yet Another 55 touches on KO & Punt returns for 1,000 more yards and 3 TDs. Mecole made the wrong choice. Butch will feed you as much as you have proven you can take, no one on the team has stepped up and taken anything. Butch will "get you the damn ball". 200 touches for Antonio Brown in 1 season. He was healthy, he worked his ass off, he got to showcase his ability like few others.
