Coach Jones has done a lot that's deserving of criticism, but this isn't one of them.
You can't change your entire offense to make one player happy. I understand that it's a coach's job to put his players in position to succeed, but what about his responsibility to help Kamara succeed? What about his responsibility to Jajuan Jennings? Josh Smith? Ethan Wolf? What about his responsibility to the SENIORS; Josh Dobbs? Dylan Wiesman? Cameron Sutton?
By expecting a coach to change his entire offense to fit his preference, and then quitting on this teammates with just 4 games remaining on the schedule, Jalen Hurd has become the most egotistical Tennessee athlete I've ever heard of.
You can blast Butch for not having this team ready to play against South Carolina. You can blast him for getting destroyed by Alabama. You can blast him for the slow starts. You can blast his offensive scheme. But you can't blast him for not pampering Jalen Hurd; not without being wrong.
Alvin Kamara deserves the same level of opportunity to succeed as Jalen Hurd, and as a captain, one could argue that Kamara deserves more.
Butch has been doing what he thinks is best for this team; especially it's seniors and it's captains, and I'm not going to fault him for that. One player should not control the offensive scheme, especially if he isn't the best player on offense.
