Leaving Williams Bryce Stadium in 1998 after watching Tennessee destroy South Carolina and Tee Martin set an NCAA completion record I overheard a conversation between a father and son in front of me when leaving the stadium. The kid said to his dad that if so and so would have caught that pass it could have been a different outcome. His dad looked at him and said, son if we had an all-star team from the last ten years we couldn't have beaten that Tennessee team today. Damn that felt good to hear.

I remember that for two reasons. Number one it gave me a sense of pride being a Vol fan. Number two I think the same thing today as that dad did when we play Alabama.

I'm so sick of being one of the bottom feeders in the conference and can remember what it feels like to be at the top. Here's to hoping Pruitt can turn this thing back to the top of the conference.
