I’ve rarely been so disappointed in our performance. I turned it off before half time and am glad I did. I’ve been heavily invested (figuratively and literally) in this program since my days on the Hill almost a half century ago. The valleys have been traveled many more times than the mountaintops. I hate to walk away, but the old cliche is ringing in my ears, “I keep beating my head against the wall because it feels so good when I stop.”
